Federated network > “Based” alternatives

Recently, the United Kingdom has implemented age restrictions laws forcing social media companies to require ID checks before prospective users can view the site’s content. This was implemented to “protect” children, and of course we are aware of the UK’s excellent track record in protecting children.

Websites featuring NSFW content now require ID checks, this ranges from explicit pornographic sites all the way to social media sites that feature cuss words (such as Reddit posts). Due to social media’s dominance since the last two decades, a large portion of mass social media is now closed off to British internet users unless they cough up their IDs.

At the end of the day, this is the natural outcome. The commercialised internet has gotten so big and dominant they can afford to lose a couple of Western users, and with the spread of internet infustructure in third world countries allowing millions of people to connect to the web to join.

Imagine a digital world where all these countries will be able to access the internet more readily.

It also helps on bandwidth. If you’re someone who doesn’t feel comfortable giving your ID or credit card to these agencies, you’re not the type of person who would’ve paid for premium services. It’s like people complaining “YouTube keeps breaking my adblockers, I won’t go on their site anymore!” That’s the point.

The only disadvantages porn sites have to deal with is teenagers can’t access the sites and be socialised into thinking watching another guy fuck a woman is normal, thereby fewer cucks in the future than otherwise. Nonetheless, there are other methods the cabal uses to ensure the next generation remain docile and divided including the forced introduction of digital technology in government brainwashing facilities, in some cases, you now need a computer to access homework and classrooms (if schools are supposed to equip students with skills, which it does a poor job at to begin with, digital technology has been proven to be inferior compared to pen and paper*), a constant flow of engineers into Europe who have different values to the native people (allowing for balkanisation and pitting people against each other), and the fleecing of ordinary people concentrating wealth into the hands of the few. One step back, three step forward.

The next goal is to censor viewpoints which don’t conform to the official narrative. The mechanism has already been implemented, it’s now quite easy for the London cabal to move to the next step, as the precedent has been established.

Ultimately, the solution is not to join “based” websites and networks, but rather to create your own federated network. This means less reliance on the likes of BitChute, Odyssee and Rumble and more emphasis towards PeerTube. It means less shopping around for Swedish domain providers who will sell domains without an ID or KYC checks and more on getting an .onion and .i2p domain, which can be generated without relying on a provider.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t use alt-sites to build up your online presence, but, you can’t rely on them and you should never concentrate your audience on them, I host some of my content on mass social media and alt sites, but I make it particulaly clear that davidwolfe.xyz is the first and final point of contact, and that's actually how it had been in the 2000s. Centralised services can and do become compromised, either the authorities will shut it down, or “muh money” will not be enough to keep it online, or the new CEO will have an attitude less consistent with the initial ethos of the sites.

Based alternative sites that claim they want to unseat the monopolies are trying to fool either themselves or you. YouTube is unprofitable, has always been, but Google sees value as it forces people to sign up for a Google account and integrate themselves into the Google ecosystem, YouTube also provides Google with information they can use for targetted advertisement, since your watch history, likes, comments, etc can be scruitinsed and a profile can be built on you, it also grants Google the ability to influence public opinion to their liking.

Domain names are regulated by ICANN, and furthermore, you are also at the mercy of the domain provider. They can cut you off if they don't like what the website hosts. They can also increase the prices and drive you out that way. What's stopping ICANN from increasing the price of domain renewels by 100%, 200%? Most people won't care, they're content with mass social media. On the other hand, the .onion link you generate will always be yours.

I am indeed aware I don't have an .onion domain yet, but I don't allow perfection to deter what I can do, soon I will move from neocities to a VPS and implement my vision towards my website better.
