Basic information
Name: David Wolfe
Age: 24 (born February 2001)
Birthplace: London, UK.
Ethnicity and Religion Persian. Heaven's Gate.
Languages: English (native), German (parents' language) and Spanish (learning it).
Unique information about me:
- I advocate for free open source software, and I've been using Linux since June of 2012. I've still remained with Linux Mint, as I haven't got a reason to move to Arch.
- I like to play the guitar, however, I've only recently began learning it so I've still got a long way to go.
- Yes, I am a believer of Heaven's Gate. That is not satire. I AM 100% SERIOUS. No, actually, I am 200% SERIOUS. Beep bop beep bob. I await the UFO.
- I occassionally like to play Brutal Doom, but only for a few minutes just to blow off some steam.
- I create videos, and I use Vegas Pro 11 under WINE as free-open source software have not yet achieved a suitable level yet.
- I am artistically expressive, but personally I am reserved for the most part, but there are moments where I slip up.
- I like to make jokes about breakdancing, this stemmed from a inside joke at school, I used to be a dancer when I was a kid/teenager, and the jokesters would always ask me "Yo David I saw you the other day breakdancing on the corner of the street for spare change, was that really you? I swear the guy looked just like you!" I don't know why breakdancing specifically because that wasn't my dance style, but I still find it funny to this day.
If you would like to wish me a happy birthday, you may consider the 17th of February as my birthdate.
My views on social interaction:
I enjoy human presence, I have no psychological or clinical issues, but I do have a reserved personality (this is not the same as being socially anxious, or shy). I am not a misanthrope, I think humans as a collective are pretty cool. If I get into a taxi, I will start a conversation with the taxi driver, I communicate very well with people, I don't like smiling (it's a personal thing, nothing to do with being cool or edgy), but I have dimples so even when I supress my smile it still gives the appearance of a smile, I have good body language, I can read body language too (e.g, looking at your watch multiple times means you’re not interested in the conversation).
With that said, I haven’t found someone that I could connect with. I sometimes doubt whether friendships are even a real thing, because I see many friendships break apart over trivial or minor points. For this reason, I’m not interested in recreational friendships, I don’t need friends to feel happy or satisfied, and in fact I argue neither do you.
I grew up pretty lonely as a kid, for various reasons (no fault of anyone, the stars simply didn't align). Past the age of 13 or so, this was no longer a problem, but being that I felt isolated for most of my childhood, I'm sure this had an effect on my overall psychology.
My ideal interaction is one where there is cooperation and productivity. This may sound obvious, but if you interact with most people, you’ll find a lot of conversations lead to nowhere. I know, ironic coming from a guy that makes small talk with taxi drivers, but small talk with strangers is different from gossiping with people you know about “muh news” or whatever political issue there is, or Netflix slop.
Ultimately, I have my goals, and I’m interested in connecting with people who share my goals, and can work together to make this goal more attainable on our terms. For what it’s worth, I think my views are pretty normal, for a man. Maybe it’s different for women, I wouldn’t know.
Feel free to email me, as I make a special exception for you. If you found my website, I trust we have a few things in common and perhaps some shared goals as well.
Music:
My favourite music genre ranges from Power Pop to Industrial/Black metal. I'm a major fan of Owl City (pretty much all of his songs), and I also appreciate the black metal band, Absurd, I like a lot of their music such as Werwolf, Ashes to Ashes, Deep Dark Forest, etc (I'm referring to the original versions, not the re-recordings, except for Ashes to Ashes I like both versions).
Yes, Owl City is a politically correct, Jesus-loving, dream pop-techno band. Absurd is a Nazi, Satanic, black metal band. I'm aware of the contrast, and I like it.
My opinion on humour:
Humour is subjective. I've seen how people are more offended by what you say as opposed to the actual act. If you make a joke about, say, domestic violence you will be condemened yet actual instances of domestic violence gets people pulling their curtains and looking away, nobody wants any business in it, nobody wants to get "involved". People wag their fingers at comedians because they know there's no actual consequence, as opposed to standing up to actual prepretators of heinous crimes that could very well make them the receipent of their wrath.
Assuming you're not a kid, you're an adult, anyone that complains to me about my sense of humour will be given a charity link to donate actual cash (you know, making a real difference) to the group of people they claim to be offended on behalf of, as well as a volunteer link. I will also recommend a browser extension you can use to put davidwolfe.xyz in the block list. Sorry if this sounds rude, but it's for the best, you have your world, I have mine.
If you happen to be a part of the group (or at least claim to be), understand I've encountered materials which disparages people who share similar characteristics to me, I don't get offended, at most I will roll my eyes. Some of these materials are ones I really like. I'm not the representative of any group, and neither are you the representative of whatever group you claim to be part of.
If I made a joke about you personally (that is, you yourself, by name), you can let me know about it, I believe in freedom of association, I might remove the content if I feel I had indeed went too far (or at least modify it to remove you), but most likely I'll just promise you I won't bring you up again, no hard feelings, as long as your civil in your email. I don't think being offended is a bad thing, I think it can be healthy since it shows you have principles, but be offended for yourself if needed, not on behalf of others whether you're part of the group or not.
How I communicate with people here:
My main method of contact is my email, contact@davidwolfe.xyz , I don't usually check the inbox as I'm not expecting any emails. If I do spot your email, I will write up a draft, give it 24 hours, proof read it and then determine if I want to send it across, I do this because I can write down a lot of information and that isn't fair on whoever the receipent might be.
I strongly recommend you use encryption, this is the guide I've used to set up GPG. I use Proton which is supposedly "based" but I don't trust centralised services, and when I set up my own email server in the future I will continue to use encryption. If you don't want to or are not ready to set up GPA, that's fine, no worries. In the guide, Ashley offers people to send her an encrypted email to test if they've set GPG up properly, you can also email me too, like a simple question such as "What's your favourite colour?", whichever one of us responds sooner.
I do not communicate with the following email service providers:
- Google
- Hotmail/Outlook
- Yahoo.
This rule achieves three purposes
- If you sent me an email from these service providers, it means you didn't actually go through my website otherwise you would've read this and know not to do that. I don't want to communicate with people who can't or won't bother to read.
- It weeds out the people who show they're not committed enough to even bother using an alternative email provider, such as Proton or Tutu, if you can't set up your own email server yet. As I am privacy-oriented and against mass tech corporations, I would expect any conversation we have to be at least based on those principles.
- I usually get asked basic normie tech questions from people who use those email providers. The question itself isn't the issue, we all start from somewhere, I'd be happy to entertain if you'd at least use an email provider that's not from an evil demonic corporation.
I have Session, but this is rarely checked, but if you're unable to get through to me via email this is an alternative method but please be even more patient if contacting me for the first time with this method because I'm really not expecting any messages in Sessions.
I don't use XMPP, I'm not a fan of instant communication, I like to have slow but thought-out communication with people. I also don't like group chats, because either group chats are dead (in which case, what's the point?) or they can be really active, yet topics will be on unimportant matters.
My devices and how I use technology:
I have two devices.
- A HP Desktop Computer (16GB of DDR3 RAM, 4th Intel Core i5, a GTX 745 4GB, running Linux Mint Cinnamon Desktop)
- A Nokia C2 Android phone.
I'm not a fan of the GTX 745 4GB, I initially got it because my monitor only supports VGA input and this was the only 4GB GPU with VGA output, however I could've gotten a VGA-DVI adapter and/or sold my monitor and get one with a DVI input and buy a 4GB AMD GPU. This was actually my first GPU, I got in June of 2025, and I really underestimated what Luke Smith meant when he said Nvidia and Linux do not get along, I've managed to get it working, but I would rather support AMD which is at least somewhat friendly to the free open source community more so than Nvidia.
As for my phone, the Nokia C2 is a terrible phone as it runs Android Go and has very outdated specs, but that's a good thing for me because it means I will only use it when I really need to (e.g, phone calls, text messages, etc). It has a browser, but you wouldn't want to use it since it's really slow, besides the Nokia C2 isn't connected to the internet (I will explain why in a moment). The reason I haven't "downgraded" to a cellphone is because I am right now dealing with important matters, and I appreciate the ability to record phone calls for any legal purposes (I'm not that important as that part might have made me sound). I am aware that smartphones can track you, I live in London, so not to sound like a defeatist, but living in a surveillance city, CCTVs will make up for the lack of smartphone carrying so that's why I haven't pirotised at least this aspect of my privacy. In the future, I will get a smartphone that can support a privacy orienteted OS like LineageOS or GrapheneOS.
As for Wi-Fi, I live with my parents (I would rather save up what I earn and deal with their nagging over minor points like over me wearing a black shirt on a sunny day rather than a white shirt opposed to working for two week's worth to pay a landlord for a roof over my head, other than that, my parents are pretty chill...far FAR more than when I was a child, but that's for another topic), anyway they use Wi-Fi because they use their phones for recreational purposes, but I don't, I use an ethernet cable for the desktop computer. Studies on Wi-Fi signals and its safety on humans are "inconclusive", which is not what you want to hear from the "experts". However, even if Wi-Fi is proven to be completely safe (lol), I still wouldn't use it, there's no practical benefit for me to do so, anything good there is to do I can do with an ethernet cable to my computer. We don't have smart home appliances, even my Gen X parents think smart TVs, fridges and whatever are werid, and they can be pretty based sometimes (when I wanted to sign up for Facebook when I was a kid, they forced me to use a fake name, for example, and it was pretty easy to convince them to stop using WhatsApp and instead use Signal).
If I remember anything, I'll be sure to add it here.
